Drew McIntyre On The Intrigue Behind His Bobby Lashley Feud: ‘It’s Going To Be Bigger Next Time’

Drew McIntyre loved working with Bobby Lashley after his WrestleMania title win against Brock Lesnar and expressed as much to Booker T and Brad Gilmore on a recent episode of The Hall Of Fame.
The WWE Champion sat down with the two and Gilmore brought up the well-booked and worked feud McIntyre had with his former IMPACT colleague. Drew does cite that previous experience as a point of interest and chemistry for the two, but what was really intriguing for McIntyre was seeing Bobby in this new pairing with MVP and away from the previous storyline regarding his “marriage” with Lana. Drew said the WWE is a smorgasbord for everybody, but something like that wasn’t a perfect situation for Lashley.
“That’s not the storyline for Bobby Lashley. He needs to be the killer. I was excited we got together and I was more excited that himself and MVP were together as a pair and I was like, ‘Ohhh this is a really good duo right here.’
“Some people think that Bobby is not the strongest on the mic, I think he’s good. MVP is one of the best and he’s not just a manager. He’s like a dangerous asset at ringside as well as deadly on the microphone and you’ve got like say Tyson and a badass Don King with this excellent pairing and then myself and Lashley get the opportunity to get in there and really turn it up physicality wise and I was like, ‘This is gonna show the world the real Bobby Lashley.’
Drew does state that it’s a feud they can certainly circle back around to.
“We genuinely need stars right now. I’m so proud of that build, I’m so proud of that match. The way it finished, it leaves it open to return together for the future. If I keep building over here, Bobby builds over here, we come together, it’s going to be bigger next time so yeah, I’m happy to see Bobby where he’s at.”
