In a recent episode of the “Untapped” podcast, WWE entertainer Drew McIntyre shared some insider insights on his on-screen rivalry with CM Punk and the peak of their feud, a brutal Hell in a Cell match at WWE Bad Blood. Here are a few standout moments from the podcast:

Discussing his prolonged feud with CM Punk, McIntyre said, “Our year-long feud was characterized mostly by his injury and my relentless verbal attacks. The plotline reached its finale in a Hell in a Cell match. I sustained a head wound during the match, requiring 16 staples. It was a real injury so to speak. At one point, I was struck by a toolbox and almost immediately, I could see my blood splattering across the ring in the first few minutes of the match.”

McIntyre also shared his perspective on their Hell in a Cell match as the climax of their year-long rivalry. He noted, “Having built this plot for an entire year, the match was the obvious conclusion. In the heat of the moment and the intense brightness of the lights, I understood the danger. However, staying true to the story we had crafted warranted this level of violence. Our doctors and the match referee ensured my safety while maintaining communication with the backstage team. They relayed my assurances of being okay, placating the concerns of those present in the arena and the viewers at home.”
