Drew McIntyre recently made an appearance on the “Insight With Chris Van Vliet” podcast where he spoke on a wide range of topics. This included his views on the accomplishments of Raj Dhesi (popularly known in WWE as Jinder Mahal) after his release from WWE.
Here are few noteworthy moments from their conversation:
When asked about Dhesi’s independent circuit triumphs, McIntyre said, “Jinder’s success makes me incredibly happy. I always had faith that he would excel, and indeed he has. He has won various titles now, and every time I see him on-screen, it’s evident that he is a true superstar. Just look at him, he truly stands apart from the crowd. Therefore, I am thrilled about his accomplishments.”
Discussing his own journey after parting ways with WWE, before he made his return to the ring, he said, “Leaving the company was a needed step for me to truly discover my in-ring persona, particularly my verbal skills. During my younger years, it was often drilled into me to stick rigidly to the script. That was all I could focus on when I was out there and it didn’t allow me to relax or be present in the moment. Looking back, I realize I wasn’t really present for most of my initial run.”
