The dream of hosting WWE WrestleMania in the United Kingdom is no longer a fantasy but an eventuality, as assured by Drew McIntyre, Scotland’s native son and WWE superstar.
Speculations about the staging of the wresting showdown WrestleMania beyond North America have been floated for years now, with the United Kingdom being pinned as the most favoured venue.
During an exclusive conversation with Daily Star recently, the question of the UK being a host to more pay-per-views and possibly a WrestleMania cropped up. McIntyre expressed his views, stating,
“These days I have a very different mindset than what I used to have, in that anything and everything is possible. It’s not just that there’s going to be a big show in the UK at some point. I believe there is going to be a WrestleMania.”
Apart from McIntyre, WWE icon John Cena expressed his desire to see WrestleMania’s UK journey while at WWE Money in the Bank 2023, much to the jubilation of the live audience.
However, McIntyre aired his qualms in the interview regarding Cena taking the credit for the concept, a notion that McIntyre asserts to have fostered for a more extended period. He shared,
“John Cena tried to claim credit for it when we came to London a couple of years back. I said it first that there would be a Mania in the UK before Cena started running around trying to take credit. Drew McIntyre said it first because I know it’s going to happen eventually.”
Meanwhile, WWE RAW’s forthcoming episode will be broadcasted from Glasgow, Scotland, while next week’s installment of the red brand will be live from London, England.
