Wrestling superstar, Drew McIntyre, has publicly expressed his wish to step into the ring with The Undertaker at WrestleMania. However, he isn’t particularly downhearted about the missed opportunity.
On a recent release of the “Ten Count Media” podcast, McIntyre shed light on the long-standing conjecture about him being scheduled to take on the icon, known as the Phenom. McIntyre shared,
“I mean, you never know for certain, but I did hear that it could have happened. Things are always fluid, especially when you have regular TV appearances, 52 weeks a year, so plans keep changing. At one point, I think I was set to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania. It was an active concept, but circumstances shifted a lot, and it didn’t come to fruition.”
The highly anticipated match was reported to take place at WrestleMania 26 in 2010, but McIntyre seemed unperturbed, even when he lost the spot to Shawn Michaels.
Recalling the nerve-wracking face-off between Michaels and the enigmatic Deadman at the second WrestleMania, Drew termed it as “likely the greatest match ever.”
Since his match with The Undertaker didn’t go through, McIntyre, who was reintroduced as the Chosen One just a few months prior, took part in the heart-stopping Money in the Bank ladder match.
