Drake Maverick was one of the names released today but he’ll still have one more chance to perform for the WWE Universe.

Maverick posted a video on his Twitter account shortly after WWE announced he was being let go, explaining that despite being released he was still getting a chance to work a few more matches in the NXT Cruiserweight Championship tournament. Tearfully, Maverick said these might be the final matches he ever works and noted that he might not get to say goodbye to a lot of people that he loved and cared about, but he’s been fortunate.

Maverick closed by saying this is about more than a title, this is his life and the fans will get everything he has.
