Dragon Lee Announces New Name, Challenges Jushin Thunder Liger
After Jushin Thunder Liger teamed with Kota Ibushi & Tiger Mask to defeat Kazuchika Okada, SHO & YOH at Sunday’s World Tag League Finals, former-CMLL wrestler Dragon Lee appeared on the video wall. Announcing his new name as Ryu Lee, Lee stated an intent to wrestle the Jr. Heavyweight legend challenged Liger to a match at Wrestle Kingdom 14.
Liger said that he’d been interested in facing Lee, but that he’d also like to face a Jr. Heavyweight that has returned from a neck injury, implying that he’d like to wrestle Hiromu Takahashi without naming him. Liger then said they could both take him on, but did not make it clear if he meant a three way match or a gauntlet match or possibly even a tag match.
Liger’s final match is set for January 5th on night 2 of Wrestle Kingdom 14. He is already set for a huge 10-man tag match on January 5th.
