In a recent conversation on “Tru Heel Heat Wrestling” podcast, Donovan Dijak was open about various topics regarding his career in WWE. This included talking about his expiring contract, suggestion for Vince McMahon to lead the RETRIBUTION faction, and other experiences.
Dijak spoke about announcing the end of his contract and discussed the influence of Cody Rhodes, who he was in conversation with at the end of Rhodes’ run as Stardust. He mentioned that though their situations weren’t the same, they had similar pathways. However, Dijak clarified his departure wasn’t really his own choice.
On not having any real conversation about his place on the main roster, Dijak expressed disappointment as he was never given an explanation. He also shared that he would still be part of WWE had they made him an offer.
Looking back at his time at WWE, Dijak showed gratitude and said it was overall a positive experience. Despite feeling disappointed at the end, he said he was excited about future opportunities. He also clarified that his aim was not to criticize WWE.
Regarding the RETRIBUTION’s leader, Dijak stated that he heard Finn Balor was supposed to lead the faction, but due to timing issues related to Balor’s move to NXT, it did not work out. Dijak had suggested Vince McMahon himself and Shane McMahon. He also think the choice of Ali was not a favored one.
He also showed a snippet from the podcast in a Youtube embed, and invited fans to send in news tips or podcast recaps which would be fully credited.
