“Donald Trump, a recognized member of the WWE Hall of Fame and an individual with a criminal conviction, didn’t make an appearance until over an hour into his concluding rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan on a recent Monday night.
While the audience was kept in anticipation, the campaign decided to repeatedly play a ten-minute video snippet of his famous “Battle of the Billionaires” skirmish that took place at WrestleMania. The spectators seemed somewhat perplexed as they awaited Trump’s tardy arrival.
The WrestleMania 23 contest saw WWE superstar Umaga, under the wing of Vince McMahon and his manager Armando Alejandro Estrada, squaring off against Bobby Lashley, who had Trump firmly in his corner. Iconic wrestler “Stone Cold” Steve Austin was delegated the responsibility of special guest referee.
One spectator’s tweet was as follows: “Um. Trump is over an hour late to his final rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan and has been playing this video of him from WrestleMania for 10 minutes straight. (via @MeidasTouch, November 5, 2024)”
