Despite labeling Kenny Omega as having a “psychological vulnerability,” Don Callis does not completely eliminate the possibility of reestablishing an alliance with the ex-AEW World Champion.
On the May 10, 2023 episode of Dynamite, a surprising betrayal took place when Callis double-crossed Omega, facilitating an opportunity for Jon Moxley to capture victory in their steel cage face-off.
In a recent installment of “The Mark Madden Show” podcast, Callis was queried about the potential of renewing ties with Omega. In response, he stated,
“The issue with Kenny is his diametric contrast: he possesses an extraordinary athletic gift, but he lacks the same degree of mental talent. Kenny has always been prone to emotional frailty, swayed too easily by his family and friends rather than paying heed to me. Ultimately, it doesn’t seem too unlikely.
“Listening to Don Callis can prove more beneficial than obeying your parents or friends. Until Kenny can sever his detrimental, toxic bonds with others, his progress is likely to remain stagnant. If we analyze his professional trajectory post our separation, it is evident that his career has suffered a considerable setback.”
Omega had been on a hiatus from wrestling since December, due to a risk-laden case of diverticulitis. However, he did make a brief appearance for AEW early this year.
Omega’s long-standing tag-team accomplice, Kota Ibushi, recently provided an update regarding his companion. Click here to view his remarks.
