‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio, the professional wrestler and son of legendary wrestler Rey Mysterio, recently shared an interesting encounter he had with security at Sydney Airport in Australia. Known for his distinctive mullet and tattoos, Dominik was stopped and searched by airport security, who seemed suspicious of his appearance.

In an interview with Hit WA’s Allan and Carly, Dominik humorously recounted the incident, saying, “The mullet and the tattoos, they looked at me like ‘uhh we’re gonna search your bags’.” It seems that his unique look raised some eyebrows and led to extra scrutiny from the airport staff.

When asked if he tried to explain that he was a professional wrestler, Dominik revealed that the staff initially doubted him. However, he was able to convince them by pointing out that he was accompanied by Rhea Ripley, the reigning WWE Women’s World Champion. Ripley, who hails from Australia, was likely recognized by the airport staff and helped vouch for Dominik’s legitimacy.

The incident highlights the challenges that individuals with unconventional appearances may face when it comes to public perception and stereotypes. Dominik’s tattoos and mullet may have led to assumptions about his character or potential involvement in illegal activities. However, it serves as a reminder that appearances can be deceiving, and judgments should not be made solely based on someone’s external appearance.

The interview also revealed that WWE will be hosting their Elimination Chamber: Perth event in Australia in February 2024. This event will provide an opportunity for wrestling fans in Australia to witness their favorite WWE superstars in action.
