Dominik Mysterio hopes to have his father in his corner as long as possible because he’s been a huge help in learning the ropes in WWE.

During a recent appearance on Out of Character with Ryan Satin, Dominik Mysterio spoke about the possibility that he will strike out on his own one day. Dominik says he’d like to have his father, Rey Mysterio, by his side to learn from him as much as he can because it’s been a huge help in starting his career.

“I don’t know, it’s so early in my career, like I literally just had my one-year anniversary at SummerSlam. You know, I think people forget that I’ve only been wrestling for a year. And I think as much help as I can get, you know, I’ll still take it. I’m still learning, I’m learning every day that I’m there, on Fridays and even on all the house shows, I’m learning constantly. So I think as long as I can keep my dad by my side, as long as I can, you know, why not?

“One of the best to ever do it, you know, in my ear, telling me what to do, how to do it, positioning myself, how to win, like why not? Who wouldn’t want to have freakin Rey Mysterio in their corner? So even though we do bump heads, I think I’d try to keep him in my corner as long as I can and soak in as much knowledge.

It’s a huge blessing to be able to have him and just literally, we go over step by step to where my entrance, soon as I come out, we’re already discussing what I could do better, what I could do from there. And then it’s just night and day honestly the things that he can point out. I try to watch my matches over, like last week with Sami Zayn, I’ve probably watched that already a little bit over 50 times. And I kinda constantly have it on loop and try to pinpoint everything. But like with him, I watch it at least four or five times with him alone and we’re just constantly going over it. But yeah it’s a huge help just having him by my side.”

Rey also shared similar sentiments, explaining that he doesn’t want to feud with his son and hopes to pass on his legacy one day. Read more about Rey’s hopes for the future at this link.
