On Friday night, there was a rumor floating around social media that WWE President Nick Khan and WWE CCO Triple H were planning a “creative intervention” meeting with Vince McMahon.

According to a report from Fightful Select, Vince McMahon was backstage at Friday night’s WWE SmackDown TV tapings at Madison Square Garden in New York City. McMahon is almost always backstage at the MSG shows as it’s close to his home in Stamford, CT.

The original rumor stated that Khan and Triple H were planning a meeting with Vince, where they would tell the WWE Chairman to back off a little bit on his creative input and especially the late changes he makes to the shows.

While several sources have heard of the possibility of that meeting taking place, it usually wouldn’t happen at the TV tapings. If one were to take place, it would happen during the middle of the week when things are less chaotic.

As of this writing, no such meeting has happened. Another WWE source said the report was “silly” and claimed there was no truth to it.

For what it’s worth, Vince McMahon remains in full control of the company. So while he can be asked to back off, he doesn’t have to agree to it.
