On his feelings for Sting: “There [are] certain guys in this business that I really hold dear to my heart, and [Sting is] one of them. When I saw him out there — when he jumped off the wall [or] whatever the hell that was and went through two tables. I’m like, ‘Oh, my God.’ … But you know what? He’s been resilient.”

On Sting never phoning it in during his AEW run: “[It was] really shocking to me that he didn’t just phone anything in, and he could’ve. … All he would’ve had to do [was] lay a couple of elbows. That’s all he would’ve needed to do — a splash, boom, boom, a Scorpion [Death Drop]. They’d have [gone] crazy, but he didn’t do that, so God bless him, man.”

Sting is scheduled to appear on tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite, where he will receive a special gift from AEW President Tony Khan.

WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page (DDP) recently discussed the retirement announcement of AEW wrestler Sting on the “Busted Open Radio” podcast. Sting revealed his plan to retire at AEW Revolution 2024, which has sparked conversations among wrestling fans and industry insiders.

DDP expressed his admiration for Sting, stating that there are certain individuals in the wrestling business that he holds dear to his heart, and Sting is one of them. DDP was amazed by Sting’s resilience, particularly when he witnessed him jumping off a wall and crashing through two tables. Despite his age and the risks involved, Sting continued to push himself physically.

What impressed DDP the most was that Sting never phoned it in during his time in AEW. He could have easily taken it easy and relied on his reputation to get by, but instead, he gave his all in every match. DDP mentioned that all Sting needed to do was a few signature moves like laying elbows, a splash, and a Scorpion Death Drop, and the crowd would have gone wild. However, Sting went above and beyond, showcasing his dedication to his craft.

In tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Sting is scheduled to receive a special gift from AEW President Tony Khan. This gesture highlights the respect and appreciation that AEW has for the legendary wrestler.
