Dexter Lumis Submits Timothy Thatcher, Earns Spot In NA Title Ladder Match

Tonight’s NXT ended with a big match, as Finn Balor, Dexter Lumis, and Timothy Thatcher all met in a Triple Threat Match to see who would advance to the NXT North American Championship Ladder Match at NXT TakeOver: XXX. Despite Balor and Thatcher giving it their all, it was Lumis who came away with the win, giving himself a spot in a very big match.
In a match with three of the biggest superstars in NXT, it was Lumis who asserted himself as the one most deserving of advancing. Late in the match, Lumis was able to catch Thatcher off guard. Thatcher had Balor trapped in an ankle lock and Lumis was able to sneak up on Thatcher, locking in The Silence on Thatcher while Finn struggled to break free of the ankle lock.
After a couple of moments, Thatcher eventually passed out in Lumis’ hold, causing the referee to ring the bell in Lumis’ favor. Now, Lumis will join Bronson Reed as one of the five men destined to meet at TakeOver: XXX to determine the new NXT North American Championship.
