LA Knight Pins Johnny Gargano After Inadvertent Distraction From Dexter Lumis
LA Knight got a win thanks to Dexter Lumis, but that’s only if you’re coming from Johnny Gargano‘s perspective.
The match between Knight and Gargano was arguably the longest-fought match of the evening, as both competitors had their moments to shine. But the highlights came when Lumis came to Johnny Wrestling’s aid. Lumis and his fiancé, Indi Hartwell were at ringside to support Gargano. Lumis happened to catch “Papa Johnny” in his arms after the former NXT North American Champion got knocked off the apron, and it really seemed to be a bonding moment between the two.

That seemingly positive step was all accentuated when back in the ring, Gargano reached to grasp Lumis’ hand in a friendly gesture, but instead he received Knight’s finisher, which kept him down for the count. Due to the nature of this loss, even more tension has been added to “The Way” of the In-Dex wedding on September 14.

Tag Title Match Announced For 9/7 WWE NXT
Right after Garganno suffered the loss to Knight, fans saw MSK meet up with William Regal backstage.
Nash Carter and Wes Lee, the NXT Tag Team Champions, wanted to show that they were true champions by defending the gold against Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan next week. They told Regal that they wanted to give the former champs a shot because Lorcan and Burch never actually lost the titles; they were stripped of the gold when Burch went down with an injury.
Regal agreed to have that title match next week on NXT despite the dastardly actions Lorcan and Burch have been responsible for in recent weeks alongside Pete Dunne and Ridge Holland.
GM @RealKingRegal loves the initiative, boys. @NashCarterWWE & @WesLee_WWE will defend their #WWENXT #TagTeamTitles against @ONEYLORCAN & @strongstylebrit NEXT TUESDAY on @USA_Network! pic.twitter.com/iTyJoKdg47

What do you say, @Kay_Lee_Ray? A match against @WWEEmberMoon next week on #WWENXT?
