You can check out some highlights from the segment below:

On Chipper Jones: “Chipper Jones — known as a bit of a Mets killer, but if you look into his eyes, you can tell he’s a killer in real life. There is no way that man doesn’t have a bunch of bodies hidden in his closet, along with a bunch of anabolics he used to cheat against the Mets back in the day, but I digress.”

On Chase Utley: “Chase Uttley — let’s just call him Chase Ugly, okay. The guy’s disgusting. He’s grotesque. You can smell his breath all the way from the upper decks. Schmuck.”

On the Philadelphia Phanatic mascot: “By far the dumbest mascot in all of professional sports. Everybody knows there’s only one mascot that matters, and his name is Mr. Met.”

AEW World Champion MJF Creates Controversy at New York Mets Game

Professional wrestler MJF, also known as Maxwell Jacob Friedman, made headlines this week when he attended a New York Mets game to promote AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam TV tapings. During his appearance on the pre-show, MJF didn’t hold back in sharing his thoughts on several top MLB players and even took a jab at the Philadelphia Phanatic mascot.

First on his list was Chipper Jones, a former Atlanta Braves player who was known for his success against the Mets. MJF humorously commented, “Chipper Jones — known as a bit of a Mets killer, but if you look into his eyes, you can tell he’s a killer in real life. There is no way that man doesn’t have a bunch of bodies hidden in his closet, along with a bunch of anabolics he used to cheat against the Mets back in the day, but I digress.”

Next up was Chase Utley, a former Philadelphia Phillies player. MJF didn’t hold back in his criticism, saying, “Chase Uttley — let’s just call him Chase Ugly, okay. The guy’s disgusting. He’s grotesque. You can smell his breath all the way from the upper decks. Schmuck.”

But it wasn’t just the players who faced MJF’s sharp tongue. He also took aim at the Philadelphia Phanatic mascot, calling it “by far the dumbest mascot in all of professional sports.” MJF made it clear that there’s only one mascot that matters, and that’s Mr. Met.

The segment gained attention on social media, with many fans sharing their reactions to MJF’s comments. Mike Janela, who had MJF as a guest on the show, tweeted a video of the segment, which quickly went viral.

While some fans found MJF’s remarks entertaining and in line with his character as a villainous wrestler, others criticized him for crossing the line and disrespecting the players and mascot. It’s worth noting that MJF is known for his ability to generate heat and create controversy, both inside and outside the wrestling ring.

As the AEW World Champion, MJF’s appearance at the Mets game helped promote the upcoming AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam TV tapings, creating buzz and excitement among wrestling fans. With his sharp wit and ability to captivate audiences, MJF continues to be a prominent figure in the world of professional wrestling.
