Details of Jim Ross’ New Deal with AEW

Jim Ross has signed a new deal with All Elite Wrestling. It was previously reported that Ross’ contract with AEW would be expiring on February 14th.

Speaking on the latest edition of his “Grilling JR” podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer announced that he’s signed a new contract with Tony Khan’s company.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On his new AEW contract: “We wrote a new deal. We wrote a completely new deal. No extension. New contract. It was probably the quickest and easiest negotiation I have ever done in my career of 50 years. That’s all because of Tony Khan’s commitment to me as a broadcaster. He’s always been a fan of my work, which helps your cause, when your boss is a fan of your work. We got a new deal. I’ll be back to do more work. I assume it’s going to be centered around the pay-per-views. We’re adding more pay-per-views and big events. I’ll be involved in some degree with those. I’m here, I’m getting better. That will work for me, if I’m working just pay-per-views, I’m very happy to do that.”

On the terms of the deal: “I think we’re down for another year. That’s plenty. I’m happy with it. Tony Khan stepped up. Term wise, financial package wise, everything was to my liking. I was very blessed to be working with Tony on that deal. He wanted me signed. He got his man and I got my company. It all worked out real well.”

Jim Ross, the legendary wrestling commentator, has signed a new contract with All Elite Wrestling (AEW), putting an end to speculation about his future with the company. Ross, who had been with AEW since its inception, announced the news on his podcast, “Grilling JR.”

The new deal, according to Ross, is not an extension but a completely new contract. He expressed his gratitude towards Tony Khan, the owner of AEW, for his commitment and support. Ross mentioned that the negotiation process was the quickest and easiest of his 50-year career in the wrestling industry.

One of the key aspects of the new contract is Ross’s involvement in AEW’s pay-per-view events. As AEW continues to grow and expand, they are adding more pay-per-views and big events to their schedule. Ross stated that he will be involved to some degree in these events, which aligns with his passion for broadcasting.

When discussing the terms of the deal, Ross revealed that it is for another year. While some may consider this a short-term commitment, Ross expressed his satisfaction with the arrangement. He praised Tony Khan for stepping up and ensuring that both parties were happy with the financial package and other terms of the contract.

Ross’s signing of a new contract with AEW is significant for both him and the company. As a WWE Hall of Famer, Ross brings a wealth of experience and credibility to AEW’s commentary team. His voice and expertise have been instrumental in establishing AEW as a legitimate competitor to WWE.

For AEW, retaining Ross is a testament to their commitment to providing high-quality wrestling content. By securing one of the most respected commentators in the industry, AEW shows that they value talent and are willing to invest in experienced professionals.

Ross’s announcement also puts to rest any rumors or speculation about his potential departure from AEW. His decision to re-sign indicates his belief in the company’s vision and direction. It is a vote of confidence in AEW’s ability to continue growing and providing a platform for talented wrestlers and broadcasters.

Overall, Jim Ross’s new contract with All Elite Wrestling is a positive development for both parties. It ensures that Ross will continue to be a prominent figure in the wrestling industry, while also solidifying AEW’s position as a major player in the market. Fans can look forward to hearing Ross’s iconic voice and insightful commentary during AEW’s upcoming pay-per-view events.
