New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) recently revealed the pairings for the G1 qualifier competition commencing on June 22 and culminating on July 5.
The 34th annual iteration of the NJPW G1 Climax is scheduled to kick-off on July 20. Here’s a closer look at the participants and contest progression:
For Block A, the contenders are: Tomohiro Ishii, YOSHI-HASHI, Chase Owens, KENTA, Callum Newman and Yujiro Takahashi. The structure is as follows:
– The primary showdown on June 22 sees Callum Newman squaring off against Yujiro Takahashi.
– The victor will then meet KENTA in a contest on July 3.
In a separate bout on June 22, YOSHI-HASHI will wrestle with Chase Owens.
– The triumphant wrestler will face Tomohiro Ishii in an encounter on July 3.
For Block B, the contestants include Hiroshi Tanahashi, Toru Yano, Oleg Boltin, Taichi, Satoshi Kojima and TJP. The tournament format is outlined as follows:
– On June 23, Toru Yano clashes with Boltin Oleg.
– The successful contender will then compete against Hiroshi Tanahashi on July 3.
Simultaneously, there will be a match between Satoshi Kojima and TJP on June 23.
– The successful wrestler will challenge Taichi in a bout on July 3.
