AEW’s Full Gear was a stacked card, to say the least. MJF taking on Chris Jericho, Darby Allin overcoming the Prince of Pro Wrestling, and an emotional main event between Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston are just some of the bouts fans saw this past Saturday. However, none of those matches had a yearslong build like the one between The Young Bucks and FTR. The two teams pulled out every tag team trick in the book and produced a memorable title encounter that’s up there with the best of them.
Several days on from the match, FTR’s Dax Harwood tweeted out that he finally felt that he could reflect on the PPV matchup. Gracious in defeat, Dax thanks his fans for the reactions to what ended up being a heck of a show.
“We poured every bit of passion, intensity, & fire we could muster up from the bottom of our soul to find out who was the best.
I had many sleepless nights because of this one match. The moment in time tha tour hands would be raised and we’d be called the greatest tag team of this generation actually scared me. What if we didn’t deliver on our behalf?! What if this one match completely tainted our legacy?! Money’s cool. Fame is cool. A legacy lasts forever.”
Dax continues that he doesn’t know of the match will go down in history, but he hopes that it made fans feel the same love that he has for the sport of professional wrestling. Then, to cap things off, he leaves the door open for a sequel.
“Young Bucks, I hope there’s a round 2. Top Guys, out.”

AEW has been pretty good about avoiding rematches when they’re not warranted, a trap that WWE falls into often with many of its performers. If the Bucks and the former Revival ever do end up staring each other down for a second encounter, it will mean something, and that opportunity will likely be far in the future.
For now, the Bucks have the belts and there’s plenty of other teams eager to knock them off their new podiums.
