Dax Harwood, a notable figure in the wrestling universe, has disclosed that notable wrestler Tommy Billington had attracted interest from both WWE and AEW.
Tommy Billington, infamous for being the nephew of the legendary Dynamite Kid, officially joined the roster of AEW just a week ago.
Speaking candidly in an Instagram Live session, Harwood divulged that WWE had also expressed interest in Billington. His words were:
“I hope he doesn’t mind me revealing this, but he shared his financial struggles with me. He even relocated to Canada with the intention of improving his prospects in the wrestling world. Upon hearing about his financial struggles, I assured him that we would secure a job for him.”
Further elucidating on the situation, Dax said,
“Following the match, his excellent performance indeed landed him a contract offer on the spot, right there. However, he did not immediately accept. Interestingly, the following day WWE also approached a person close to Tommy with an offer to get him onto their team. Even though it would be exaggerating to call it a bidding war, there were certainly some power dynamics at play. Ultimately, Tom decided in favour of AEW. I am confident that the AEW scene will see a lot more of Tom Billington.”
