David Marquez has confirmed reports that he was indeed in talks with The CW for the United Wrestling Network.

As we previously reported here on eWn, Marquez’s UWN had been in talks with The CW before WWE announced that NXT would be moving to the network starting in October 2024.

UWN had discussed some possible strategies with The CW before WWE came into the picture.

Marquez confirmed that report, tweeting,

“You are hearing my name on podcasts and reading my name in print. Yes it’s true, I was in long negotiations with the network and that’s all I’m going to say about it for now. Please don’t contact me for comments or guesting on your show on this subject. Thank you all for your continued support and I hope to see you out for @unitedwrestling on 12/17 in Long Beach!”

Veda Scott took to Twitter on Wednesday to announce that her planned debut at MLW Fightland has been canceled.

MLW had announced last week that Scott would debut as part of the MLW broadcast team at the November 18th event in Philadelphia, PA.

Scott tweeted, “As a matter of clarification, I will not be appearing with MLW this weekend. Thanks for the support – I’ll see everyone a bunch of other places this month!”

In an upcoming New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) event, SHO will defend the KOPW (King of Pro-Wrestling) Championship against Taichi. The match will take place at the New Japan Road show in Yamagata, Japan, and the stipulations for the match have been announced.

According to NJPW, Yoshinobu Kanemaru has been chosen as the guest referee for the title match. This decision was made based on a fan vote, with Kanemaru receiving 70.6% of the votes (23,935 votes). The other options for the special guest referee were EVIL, Yujiro Takahashi, and Dick Togo.

In addition to the guest referee, there are several stipulations for the match. Taichi is forbidden from using certain moves such as the Dangerous Backdrop, Black Mephisto, Tenshi Jujiho, and sumo techniques. On the other hand, SHO is not allowed to use his signature moves, including the Shooting Star Press, Phoenix Splash, Double Rotation Moonsault Press, and any System Sambo techniques. The announcement of these stipulations has created excitement among NJPW fans, as it adds an extra layer of anticipation to the match. The KOPW Championship is highly coveted, and both SHO and Taichi will be looking to prove themselves as worthy champions.
