Davey Boy Smith Jr. Opens Up About A Possible Return To WWE
Currently, Davey Boy Smith Jr is a major part of MLW’s restart, but he is open to the potential of a WWE return in the future.
Smith was in WWE as David Hart Smith, a play on the names of his legendary family members. Born Harry Smith, he was released by WWE in 2011 and has since perfected his craft around the world in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, MLW, and elsewhere.
Speaking with Sports Illustrated, Smith revealed that he is open to a WWE return as he was supposed to return in some fashion for his father’s Hall of Fame induction which was supposed to take place this year prior to the global pandemic shutting everything down.
“I think it’s definitely a possibility,” says Smith. “In addition to the WWE Hall of Fame, I was also supposed to be touring regularly with All Japan Pro Wrestling. I had a big opportunity with their Champion Carnival tournament in April, but I couldn’t travel to [Japan] with the pandemic.
“I have a lot to think about and a lot of options to weigh, but I’m looking forward to seeing what transpires in my future. A return to WWE is very possible.”
Unfortunately, Smith locked his opportunity against Jacob Fatu and could not capture the Major League Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship. You can check out the full results of the most recent episode of Fusion at this link.
