Currently, AEW is experimenting with branching out of their normal fanbase by bringing in names such as Shaquille O’Neal or Mike Tyson.

While some on the roster may be offended by celebrities taking up TV time, the AEW TNT Champion Darby Allin wants to see more crossover celebrities in AEW such as the ones that he has interacted with in vignettes.

“I would say [Shaquille O’Neal] kicked ass,” Darby tells Sportskeeda. “I want to see more crossovers with other forms of media. I’m a big fan of all that stuff, which is why I tried to bring in Tony Hawk and Steve-O or Travis Pastrana; as much as these guys get me hyped, I want to bring them into the world so that all the other wrestling fans can see what they do.”

When asked if he certainly doesn’t have any issues with somebody with no wrestling experience coming into their world, Darby would take a jab at his contemporaries saying half of today’s wrestlers are complete jokes.

“Absolutely, because half the people in the world are complete jokes. Half the wrestlers are complete jokes that don’t take it seriously. So, I would love to have someone else step into our world and take it seriously and kicking ass.”

Currently, Darby Allin is in the crosshairs of another crossover icon, WWE and IMPACT Wrestling Hall of Famer, Sting. WrestleZone has live coverage of AEW Dynamite every Wednesday at 8 p.m.
