The AEW TNT Championship is these days a mere shadow of its former glory, according to two-time champion Darby Allin.
Appearing on today’s “AEW Control Center,” Allin argued that the frequency of recent title changes has resulted in the title being significantly devalued. He said,
“I’m gonna be honest when I say this: to me, the TNT Championship used to mean something Within the last year, I felt like it lost all its value. I remember the people that used to hold it — guys like Cody, guys like Brodie Lee, myself. Back then, it meant something. Now, it’s like a hot potato.”
The AEW TNT Championship has changed hands six times in AEW, more than any championship this year and more than any year of the title.
Despite the apparent worthlessness of the gold, Allin will challenge for the TNT Championship at AEW All Out next month.
