Ahead of Double or Nothing 2023 later tonight, Darby Allin, who is set to challenge MJF (alongside Sammy Guevara & Jungle Boy) for the AEW World Championship in the “Four Pillars Match,” appeared on the “Drinks with Johnny” podcast.
While MJF has made a concerted effort to make fans, experts, and perhaps even Tony Khan wonder whether he might consider a jump to WWE once his contract expires for the “Bidding War of 2024,” Darby Allin denounced any such thoughts on his part, reinforcing his commitment to All Elite Wrestling and the value of freedom he is afforded. He said,
“I can’t say enough good things about AEW. It sounds corny, but I don’t know what my life would be like without AEW… This place lets me be me in the ring and outside of it. It’s crazy… If someone said, ‘you can’t skateboard, it’s in your wrestling contract,’ I wouldn’t sign it.”
He also took a shot at MJF and further added,
“People that are loyal to the company… those are pillars, it’s not just four guys. You can’t really call yourself a pillar if you don’t plan on being here in two years… There’s never gonna be a bidding war [for me].”
