All Elite Wrestling’s (AEW) Darby Allin is taking a methodical approach to training Steven Borden Jr, child of his previous teammate and celebrated wrestling figure Sting.
Steven Borden Jr was present with his sibling and dad at AEW Revolution, at which point it was reported that he had developed an interest in wrestling and was undergoing training with Darby Allin.
In a recent interaction with Raj Prashad from Uproxx, Allin gave an update on Borden’s progression, emphasizing on the fact that proper training cannot be expedited, expressing,
“He’s still training. He waits outside in the tent in my lawn. And then yes, it’s coming along. Definitely want to take it slow and not rush anything. Because we don’t want it to seem like, ‘Oh, Sting’s son’s getting an easy pass and we’re hastily putting him in the ring and this guy is really terrible.’ No, we want to ensure he’s fully prepared to take on, you know, when he steps in the ring you only have one chance at a first impression.”
Borden Jr. posted a photograph on Twitter of the discussed tent where he has been staying.
Allin is all set to join forces with Swerve Strickland, Mark Briscoe, and The Acclaimed to compete against The Elite in the upcoming match Blood & Guts in the upcoming episode of AEW Dynamite.
