On a recent episode of the “Uncrowned” podcast, pro wrestler Daniel Garcia discussed his decision to extend his deal with All Elite Wrestling (AEW), which is helmed by Tony Khan. This news follows earlier reports of interest from WWE in Garcia.
Garcia used the platform to discuss a variety of topics. Regarding his current standing in AEW, he said, “Despite my status as a conqueror, I’ve never had the chance to main event a pay-per-view or claim a title. I’m not yet recognized as a top player in the company.”
He expressed excitement at seeing fresh talent rise in the ranks, particularly highlighting the achievements of Konosuke Takeshita and the teams Private Party and Top Flight. He enthused, “I love being part of the conversation with these youngsters. I feel we have the most talented young roster globally.”
Reflecting on his experience so far with AEW, Garcia said he felt trust and camaraderie with his fellow wrestlers. During a recent gathering, he noticed everyone’s excitement and involvement in ongoing TV programming. He affirmed, “I feel like I’m part of a group ready to go to battle.”
Garcia also mentioned the influence of New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) on his decision, noting, “I feel my career wouldn’t be complete without a stint in NJPW. The fact that AEW allows this flexibility and nurtures ties with outfits like NJPW played a big part in my decision.”
On another note, AEW superstar Chris Jericho spoke about his acting career on “The Adam Carolla Show.” Reflecting on his success so far, Jericho said, “Acting is what we do in wrestling. I’m grateful for all the opportunities I’ve had so far, especially when I don’t need to audition. I am focused on climbing the acting ladder, just as I have done in wrestling for the past 34 years.”
Just for context, Chris Jericho has been involved in acting for as long as he has been in wrestling – a promising trajectory for this multi-talented performer.
