Daniel Bryan Addresses His Future: ‘I’ll Be A Full-Time Dad, Part-Time Wrestler’

Daniel Bryan is ready to focus fully on being a dad once his current contract is over, but that doesn’t mean his wrestling career is over.

“I’m confident in my body and my longevity, but I have different priorities [in my life]. I still love wrestling and I feel like I will always wrestle as long as I can physically do it. But do I want to wrestle full-time when I have babies at home? … I’ve been wrestling for over 20 years and it still fills me with this joy and energy. … But now I have things in my life that I love more than wrestling that gives me a different feeling.”

Bryan says he wants to spend the most time with his kids right now as they’re growing up and they won’t want to lay on his chest or sleep with them. Ultimately, he wants to be a “full-time dad, part-time wrestler.”

"I'm switching priorities in my life. My contract is coming up soon, and we'll be looking at me transitioning to less than a full-time wrestler."

Of course, this is not a new attitude from Bryan. Back in 2019, Bryan said he was done as a full-time wrestler once his current deal was up.

“That’s the journey I’m on right now, I’m looking in a couple years when I’m no longer a full-time wrestler,” said Bryan on Jimmy Jacobs’ podcast. “I’ll always wrestle a little bit because I love doing it. After my contract is up, I don’t want to be a full-time wrestler anymore. So, diving into [climate change and other issues] has been really important.”
