During his recent participation in “The Wrestling Classic” podcast, Damian Priest opened up about the counsel he was given by WWE Hall of Famer, The Undertaker. Below are some notable portions from the podcast:
When discussing the guidance he received from The Undertaker, Priest said, “The most impactful thing about every suggestion he gives me is that he’s frank with me, even if it’s something that I may not want to hear. He’s not one to mince words, and I value that. That’s the only way I’ll grow or strive towards something else. I don’t need back slapping. I don’t need ‘Good job.’ I need constructive feedback“.
Speaking about The Undertaker’s advice to him, Priest said, “[The advice] was in essence to remain genuine; amplify your personality … ‘When you’re performing, exhibit this aspect of yourself.’ Basically, he was advising me on how to showcase myself, what to avoid and not to seek approval from the audience, just stay true to myself,” Priest recollected the conversation with The Undertaker.
