Damian Priest Responds to Drew McIntyre’s “Transitional Champion” Comment

Damian Priest has no intentions of being a “transitional” WWE World Heavyweight Champion despite what Drew McIntyre may believe.

Priest won the title at WWE WrestleMania 40 (Night Two) after cashing in his Money in the Bank contract on McIntyre, who had dethroned Seth Rollins minutes earlier.

On a recent edition of WWE’s “The Bump,” Priest responded to McIntyre calling him a “transitional champion” on the post-WrestleMania episode of RAW. He said,

“I could care less what Drew says. Drew’s been talking for months. That’s all he does is talk. He forgot how to deliver. And that’s why he lost at WrestleMania and he lost on RAW.”

On this week’s edition of RAW, McIntyre lost in a fatal four-way match to determine Priest’s first challenger, admittedly due to CM Punk’s interference. Jey Uso would win the match instead.

Damian Priest Responds to Drew McIntyre’s “Transitional Champion” Comment

After winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40, Damian Priest has made it clear that he has no intentions of being a “transitional” champion, despite what Drew McIntyre may believe. McIntyre had referred to Priest as a transitional champion on the post-WrestleMania episode of RAW, but Priest quickly dismissed those comments.

During a recent edition of WWE’s “The Bump,” Priest responded to McIntyre’s remarks by saying, “I could care less what Drew says. Drew’s been talking for months. That’s all he does is talk. He forgot how to deliver. And that’s why he lost at WrestleMania and he lost on RAW.”

Priest’s victory at WrestleMania 40 came after he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on McIntyre, who had just dethroned Seth Rollins minutes earlier. This unexpected turn of events left McIntyre disappointed and questioning Priest’s ability to hold the championship.

However, Priest has shown his determination to prove himself as a worthy champion. On the following episode of RAW, McIntyre had the opportunity to earn a shot at Priest’s title in a fatal four-way match. Unfortunately for McIntyre, CM Punk interfered in the match, leading to his loss. Jey Uso emerged as the winner and became Priest’s first challenger.

The incident further fueled the rivalry between McIntyre and Priest, as McIntyre blamed Punk for his defeat and indirectly criticized Priest’s reign as champion. But Priest remains unfazed by McIntyre’s comments and is focused on defending his title against all challengers.

As the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Priest has already shown his potential and skill inside the ring. His victory at WrestleMania 40 was a testament to his ability to seize opportunities and capitalize on them. With his unique blend of athleticism, charisma, and in-ring prowess, Priest has quickly become a fan favorite.

While some may view Priest’s championship reign as transitional due to the circumstances surrounding his win, he is determined to prove them wrong. Priest aims to establish himself as a dominant and long-lasting champion, ready to take on any challenge that comes his way.

Only time will tell if Priest can live up to his aspirations and silence the critics. As the WWE Universe eagerly watches his journey as champion unfold, one thing is certain – Damian Priest is not taking his role lightly and is prepared to leave a lasting impact on the WWE World Heavyweight Championship scene.
