Damian Priest has been on quite the tear since joining the WWE main roster earlier this year. It appears that Priest is on a collision course with United States Champion Sheamus at SummerSlam.
The Orlando Sentinel caught up with Damian Priest on the road to SummerSlam to discuss all things WWE. When his WrestleMania tag match with Bad Bunny was brought up, Priest called it a dream come true:
“It’s been crazy. WrestleMania has been a dream of mine for a long time,” Damian Priest said. “I could never have expected that when it finally happened, when my dream finally came true, it would be everything I ever wanted plus so much more. For the match to be that good, and to know that I helped create that, is a moment that will last forever. That… that’s the dream, right there. It’s the most special time I’ve ever had in my career.”
At WrestleMania, Damian Priest performed in front of the WWE Universe on the main roster for the first time. During the interview, Priest talked about the difficulty of performing in the ring without a crowd:
“This is an emotion-based business,” Damian Priest said. “At first, we were just going through the motions, guessing what will draw emotions out of people. We did our best, but we never could know if it was working in the moment. We’ve been performing here in Orlando for nobody for so long. We were so close, but nobody could see us. Now, it’s a whole new ballgame. The fans should be extra-rowdy and we’re ready to rock and roll.”
