Damian Priest realized his dream at WrestleMania 40 and now has big plans for a future installment of WWE’s annual two-night pay-per-view event.

WrestleMania 40 (Night Two) saw Priest capture the WWE World Heavyweight Championship by cashing in his Money in the Bank contract on Drew McIntyre.

In a recent interview with Metal Hammer, Priest spoke about how wrestling and heavy metal music are connected. He said,

“I mean, you see a wrestling show, you see a sea of black t-shirts, you go to a metal show, you see a sea of black t-shirts, you know? It’s one of those things that’s the same kind of character or personality. It’s something that, to your point, wrestling and metal aren’t normal. It’s not the norm. Our fanbases are so passionate.”

When asked about what band he’d like to play him to the ring at WrestleMania, Priest had the legendary Metallica in mind. He said,

“The mighty Metallica! You know what I mean? Can you imagine Metallica playing me to the ring? It’d be wild! Yeah. Hey, maybe I’ve gotta talk to the boss man and be like, ‘Hey? What’s up with Metallica?’ That’d be a whole different dream scenario. I don’t even know if I’m ready for that.”

The Judgment Day experienced their first live performance at a WrestleMania this year when Motionless in White played Rhea Ripley to the ring.

Damian Priest is set to defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Jey Uso at Backlash: France. The show will be WWE’s first pay-per-view event in the country.
