The Chief Executive Officer of The CW Network, Dennis Miller, has decided to step down from his post. As stated in a report by Deadline, Miller is moving on from his role as CEO after a two-year tenure, paving the way for Brad Schwartz, incumbent President of CW Entertainment, to potentially step in and take charge.
The buzz regarding Miller’s decision to leave has been in the air for several weeks now; hence, the announcement comes as quite surprising given that he had signed a contract extension just the previous year, keeping him on board till 2027.
Miller is expected to officially vacate his office by the end of the current month, however, he will continue to provide his valuable inputs as a counselor till the year-end. He spearheaded the network, Nexstar’s property, since its inception in 2022.
In his formal address, Miller stated, “I’ve had a front row seat during a remarkable 11-year run with Nexstar and enjoyed navigating this period of significant transformation for the network. With some of the highest ratings The CW has seen in years and long-term contracts with an array of premium live sports in place, the future of The CW looks very promising.”
Under Miller’s guidance, The CW Network saw a shift in its content strategy with a keen focus on live sports such as ACC football, basketball, LIV Golf, and WWE NXT, besides its traditional entertainment offerings.
