Professional wrestling sensation Ricochet might be the next superstar to bid farewell to WWE as his contract comes close to an end this summer.
As per eWrestlingNews’ prior reporting, chatter has been abuzz about the possible non-renewal of Ricochet’s present WWE contract. He has allegedly shown intentions to part ways with WWE upon contract expiration.
Journalist Dave Meltzer reports the circumstances surrounding Ricochet’s possible WWE exit as labyrinthine, contrasting with earlier Pwinsider news that claimed Ricochet had already signaled his exit.
Developed conjecture from Fightful adds to the narrative, indicating that it is “highly likely” that Ricochet will part ways with WWE. Reports say the company is actively bracing for his withdrawal.
Ricochet’s intent to quit has not been formally confirmed, however, the WWE is under the impression that the high-flyer is set to move. The buzz is that he might officially join AEW.
WWE is mulling over different innovative methods, such as Andrade defeating Ricochet to win the WWE Speed Championship during the recent TV shows.
There have been various potential scenarios suggested by WWE’s creative team to write Ricochet off TV, including a storyline in which Bron Breakker eliminates the past Speed Champion.
Meanwhile, AEW employees and talent were allegedly notified last week about the likelihood of Ricochet joining their team.
However, there is no official news of talks between the two entities yet, as Ricochet is still bound by his WWE contract.
Nonetheless, as of last Friday, clues pointed towards Ricochet’s intention to depart from WWE, while AEW and NJPW have reportedly shown interest in recruiting the 35-year-old superstar.
Significantly, the end of Ricochet’s contract with WWE is expected to be in the first half of the summer.
