Jeff Cobb is returning to Major League Wrestling.

Court Bauer was featured in a new profile by Digital Journal to promote Saturday’s MLW War Chamber taping in Philadelphia. During the interview, Bauer was talking about what fans could expect from the event and happened to mention Jeff Cobb as one of the “new faces entering the mix.”

“We will also see the vacant National Openweight Championship decided as well as some new faces entering the mix, like NZO and Jeff Cobb,” said Bauer.

WrestleZone reached out for clarification about Cobb’s status and can confirm that he is coming in this weekend at the event in Philadelphia. No other details as to what Jeff Cobb’s appearance will entail, or how long he’ll be working with MLW were shared.

Cobb has appeared in MLW before, but it was only for a short amount of time near the time the league re-launched in 2017. Cobb has worked four tapings for MLW (all of them at GILT Nightclub in Orlando), including his last match against Jake Hager at MLW Intimidation Games on May 3, 2018.

Cobb signed with Ring Of Honor in September of that year and worked there until mid-2020. Since then, he has primarily worked for New Japan Pro-Wrestling and has made cameo appearances in All Elite Wrestling and WXW.

In addition to mentioning Cobb’s return, Bauer also hyped the War Chamber match’s debut in Philadelphia:

“It’s a huge FUSION TV taping,” he said. “We’re bringing the War Chamber to Philly for the first time ever. Fans will see CONTRA and MLW’s top wrestlers clash in their final battle inside a cage. This is going to be a big one. Plus, history will be made as the oldest tournament in wrestling, the Opera Cup is decided.”

On Monday, MLW also announced Gnarls Garvin will make his debut at War Chamber this weekend. Read more about the new arrival at this link.
