Corey Graves, the former in-ring competitor forced to retire due to concussion complications, has expressed his disapproval towards Jack Perry’s unprotected chairshot to his head during Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite.
In a tweet that has since been taken down, Graves penned his thoughts. He stated, “This is not meant to sound judgmental, or incite ‘us vs. them’ or question anybody’s passion, or talent or intentions. This is just coming from a guy whose career ended from a few too many ACCIDENTAL headshots. The ART of this business is protecting ourselves and each other. Trust me…the gaps in memory are not worth it. I promise.”
Some sources have suggested that the chair used in the incident was rigged or gimmicked. Nevertheless, the fact that it was an unprotected chairshot has stirred controversy.
A tweet responding to Corey Graves’ now-deleted comment confirmed the sentiments he shared. “I couldn’t agree more. 👏 I don’t understand how people can argue/attack someone for being RIGHT,” wrote @_PWChronicle.
