The Packaging
This set features the typical red and white 2020 basic style packaging with their names on the side with an image of the wrestler as well followed by everyone in the set listed on the back. Bianca’s box happens to say ‘First Time in the Line’ as it’s her very first action figure.
Braun Strowman
As much as people are probably turned off to see yet another Braun Strowman figure this one is actually pretty decent. He features one of his newer head scans, which is pretty detailed. He does have a smirk on his face so if you wanted a serious, angry one you may want to get his upcoming Elites.
Braun is sporting a black t-shirt, but they painted over his singlet torso, which is a bit annoying. I’m not a fan of when they do that but it’s obviously cheaper for them than having to make another torso for him. Besides that it has one of his t-shirt logos on the front and his name on the back. He also features his wristbands, camo pants and tan combat boots.
Overall, it’s still a nice Basic style figure of his if you like him. He does get made a lot, but I actually like this figure. The detailed head scan is nice and at least the outfit is a bit different from his others. I just wish they’d give him shorter boots but I don’t see that happening anytime soon sadly.
Bianca Belair
Bianca’s first figure is nice, but I wish it was an Elite as I’m sure others do, too. Hopefully that is in the works. Regardless, for her first it’s not bad. She has a serious expression on her face and her long ponytail extending from her head. It’s a thing plastic, not poseable though, which is too bad. Be careful with her hair piece as it seems a bit fragile.
She is wearing her black and gold attire with kiss logos going down her spine. Much like Braun they painted over a torso than molding her top appropriately, which is a bit disappointing and distracting but obviously a cheaper option for production. She also has a closed fist and opened hand, not giving you the ability to have her hold her ponytail. The graphics on her tights and top are nicely done and the gold/black attire really pops on the figure. Not to mention she has her tall, gold boots, too.
Overall, for her first it is nice. Some minor gripes of course but hopefully they will make a much more detailed Elite of her. An Elite with her crazy long ponytail would be awesome honestly. Hopefully we will get to add that to our collection in the future but I do recommend this one in the meantime.
Shinsuke Nakamura
This is one of Shinsuke’s best Basic figures in my opinion. It finally features him in his jumpsuit attire, which stands out from majority of his other WWE figures to date. The common version is in black and red while the chase version is in blue and black. He also has one of his best head scans, with his partially shaved hair and mouth guard grin.
Overall, I really like this Shinsuke figure. I unfortunately didn’t have the Chase version in time for this review but you can currently get it on Ringside if you like to collect those like myself. Both figures look nice as they’re so different to his others. I do recommend picking this one up.
EC3
This is EC3’s last figure before he was released. His previous figure was an Elite from several sets ago. This one features the same head scan, which looks excellent, as well as his baby blue attire with the EC3 logos on the trunks and knee pads. He also features his wrist bands and tall, black boots.
Overall, if you’re a fan of his this figure is nice. The detail on it is great and the scan looks awesome. I’d guess this figure will most likely rot on the pegs since he is irrelevant now and wasn’t on TV all that much sadly, but he surprisingly sold out on Ringside. Pick it up if you enjoyed him otherwise let it fade away like his WWE career.
The Rock
Lastly, we have The Rock. Another guy people are probably tired of seeing made by Mattel lately but it’s actually one of his coolest figures. It’s also very different from any they’ve done and I actually wish it was an Elite instead. Rock is sporting his Under Armor attire of his, obviously no logos since it’s copyrighted, and he also has his new tattoo on his right arm. His head scan is an older scan we’ve seen on several figures. Rock is also wearing his track pants and what looks like his own shoes, too, as close as Mattel could get to them.
Overall, I really like this figure. The detail in his tattoos is nice and the fact he’s wearing an outfit we’ve never had him in before is awesome as well. This figure definitely stands out to many of his others and I recommend it for that very reason alone.
Overall
Overall, this set is actually pretty nice. The detail on several in this set is impressive as sometimes the Basic sets can be a bit boring. There’s definitely a few in here I’d recommend picking up, especially Bianca being her first. Hopefully some of these figures get the Elite treatment eventually.
