Cody is now saying that some of his comments are taken out of context and simply meant it in jest.

When asked on Instagram Live if ZackRyder would join All Elite Wrestling, Cody was very complimentary of his friend, while being seemingly leery of signing too many of his friends to the promotion that he helped create.

Now, Cody has taken to social media to say that his comments were taken out of context, and had they been heard in context, it would have been understood that he was simply joking.

Both things were said in jest…clearly. It’s clickbaited very sterile, but in context it’s clearly humor.

Another thing Cody said on Instagram Live was a short and firm “no” to the potential of signing Heath Slater. Now, the former WWE Tag Team Champion is responding to Cody, calling his denial a bad business move.

Damn!! NO. Nope on Heath?? I know you are a new business man but that was a bad business decision. @CodyRhodes https://t.co/XpJQGdLqpf
