In a recent conversation with WHAS11, Cody Rhodes, the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, talked about his dedication to maintain the visibility of the title at numerous live shows in various cities.
His intention is to bring a new approach to his title reign, deviating from Roman Reigns’ style, who made lesser public appearances during his tenure as the champion. The American Nightmare, as he is known, is focused on being more active at live events. He stated,
“I take immense pride in the fact that I have the opportunity to travel from city to city as the WWE Champion. My predecessor and the one I defeated for this title, Roman Reigns, The Tribal Chief, did not make his presence felt in every city and at every show. I have been given the chance to do exactly that. For a year, I felt like an unrecognized champion – I was everywhere, promising to bring the WWE Title. It feels satisfying to be able to keep that promise and return to these places with the WWE Title.”
In other WWE news, Piper Niven is set to take on Bayley for the WWE Women’s Championship at the WWE Clash at the Castle: Scotland event this Saturday.
In a separate discussion with Pwinsider, Niven shared her thoughts about the impending match, her evolution during her stint at WWE, and more. On respect for Bayley, she remarks, “I hold her in high regard. She’s immensely talented. She elevates her opponents, which is something that’s admirable, not just for a fan but also as a co-performer. While I respect her, I won’t lose sight of my intention to defeat her and strip her of her title.”
Reflecting on her journey in the WWE, Niven continued, “My journey in WWE has taught me to enjoy the present moment without getting lost in the finer details. If things don’t pan out as you planned, don’t stress because usually, something greater is on the horizon.”
Regarding NXT Europe, Niven hopes it mirrors NXT UK since she felt it was a gold mine of talent: “I hope that NXT Europe becomes a reality, and when it does, I’d love to help out and pass on the knowledge that I’ve gained to help the upcoming generation.”
