Cody Rhodes, the current reigning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, has expressed strong support for Samantha Irvin, who departed the WWE earlier this week.
In a recent conversation with “The Schmo,” Rhodes praised Irvin and her potential future endeavors.
“What a wonderful…I feel like time will tell,” Rhodes said (in regard to Fightful). “In our business, we often realize someone’s exceptional talent about five or ten years after they’ve left. And Samantha? She’s in the top five, or even top three. She was just nailing it. She and WWE decided to part ways, but it was amicable, leaving the door open for her potential return.”
He added, “I’ve yet to rewatch WrestleMania 40, but I can still hear her emotion-charged announcement of my triumph in the WWE Championship. That memory will always be connected to me. Kudos to Samantha. She’s a great friend and I look forward to seeing her achieve great things, wherever her journey takes her. If you’ve heard her voice, you’d know: She’s going to ace it.”
Samantha Irvin and Ricochet, however, have both stated that they have no immediate plans to debut on AEW.
Bianca Belair, another WWE superstar has expressed interest in enhancing the stature of WWE’s female division, much like her predecessors, Becky Lynch and Bayley.
While appearing on the “Good Karma Wrestling” podcast, Belair articulated her aspirations within the WWE.
“I’ve accomplished so much in a short amount of time. I’ve been the main event at WrestleMania Night One, and I wish to headline WrestleMania Night Two. Additionally, I long to take part in a women’s match that isn’t necessarily for a title,” she explained. “I believe our men have successfully pulled this off, and doing the same would signify how far the women’s roster has come.”
She further expressed, “Being part of a tag team was on my bucket list; it was new and exciting, and I envisioned championing it. People like Becky Lynch and Bayley, who have not only accomplished so much but have also lifted the division, are my inspirations. My aim is to continue to uplift our women’s division.”
