Cody Rhodes recently expressed his intentions to put an end to his full-time wrestling career by 45. During an episode of “2 Bears, 1 Cave” podcast, Rhodes, who currently holds the renowned Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, opened up about the endgame of his wrestling career.
Check out some of the main talking points from his discussion on the podcast here:
When asked about the time he’s planning to continue with full-time wrestling, he shared, “Currently at 39, I envision my career going until I no longer desire the full-time aspect, certainly not beyond 45 for sure. But will I drop by occasionally? Definitely. Gotta keep in shape.”
In terms of post-wrestling ambitions, he mentioned, “I’ve always been passionate about storytelling, similar to what we perform in the ring but through a different medium. Making movies is something that I’ve been keenly interested in. However, my tie with wrestling and return to WWE, where claiming the championship is akin to leading a football team as a quarterback, have always pulled me back.”
“It’s been an intensely rewarding time in my career. I feel incredibly great at what I do, especially interacting with the live audience. It’s also exciting to guide the newbies, like Carmelo Hayes from our young talent pool. Watching them learn and understanding the audience’s reception is fascinating. I’d certainly be interested in keeping up this level of involvement until possibly 45,” he added.
