Returning to action this week at the WWE live event in Jacksonville, the Uncontested WWE Champion Cody Rhodes made an impactful appearance after being away from the ring for several weeks.
The highlight of the event was Rhodes’ victory over Kevin Owens in a thrilling steel cage match. Prior to the match commencing, Rhodes removed his neck brace in a display of readiness and resilience.
Since Saturday Night’s Main Event, where he successfully defended his Undisputed WWE Title against Owens, Rhodes had been out of action.
Post-event, Owens took advantage of Rhodes’ absence and launched an attack with a package piledriver. He then declared himself the ‘Real’ WWE Champion, inciting controversy and a promised retribution.
Confirmation of Rhodes’ participation in the inaugural WWE RAW on Netflix has been received, which is scheduled for January 6. However, details of his match for this breakthrough show are yet to be announced.
