Cody Rhodes Recalls 2008 Royal Rumble Moment With Undertaker
Cody Rhodes was interviewed by Inside the Ropes recently and went into detail about a cool moment he recalled from his first ever Royal Rumble back in 2008.
Cody said when he entered the match he saw The Undertaker hanging out in the corner with nobody around him and decided, “f*** it, I’m going after him.” Cody said he went over to Undertaker and hit him as hard as he had ever hit anyone on the back of the head and was met with a glare when Undertaker turned around.
Cody was grabbed by the neck and told to kick Undertaker in the knee. Cody said, “I kick him in the knee and he goes ‘dropkick me’! I get so excited, I jump up, I dropkick him and he takes a bump! You can see I didn’t know what to do, the goal is to get the guy out of the match but I’m not going to pick him up, so I just stood there and then went into the corner and started fake punching someone else.”
Cody praised Undertaker and said that after the match he was always treated good by Undertaker. “Everything about this guy is about giving back. He really did not need to do that. I love the Undertaker.”
