During his recent visit to “The Pat McAfee Show,” WWE superstar Cody Rhodes, who happens to hold the undisputed WWE Universal Championship title, took some time to shed light on his recent vignette with fellow wrestler Roman Reigns which was shot at Georgia Tech. He also gave a sneak peek into what fans can expect in terms of mini-movies to boost storylines in the future.
Here are some standout moments from the podcast:
Talking about his vignette with Roman Reigns at Georgia Tech, Rhodes said, “With RAW returning to a two-hour format, the content might be presented a bit differently. The package that was showcased with Roman and I at Georgia Tech could indicate a new direction that the industry is moving towards. It reminded me of the old-school mini-movies format.”
Rhodes reminisced about the White Castle of Fear, a WCW mini-movie that was directed by his father. He commented, “Decades back, my father produced this project for WCW, starring Sting and Vader. It was a zany scenario, with dwarfs and turkey legs, and was considered ludicrous by the fans. I’ve always believed that such over-the-top theatricality would never find a place in our wrestling world. But seeing the vignette I did with Roman, and how it was handled by Mr. Heyman and Adam Pennucci, made me rethink. It wasn’t silly or supernatural. It was just an authentic conversation between two adversaries that we captured.”
