Cody Rhodes recently made an appearance on the podcast, “The Flagrant”, where he touched upon an array of subjects, including his decision to part ways with All Elite Wrestling.

Rhodes, who is currently the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, also spoke about teaming up with Roman Reigns in WWE Bad Blood to combat The Bloodline.

Here are some key takeaways from the development:

Regarding his decision to leave AEW: Rhodes reflected on the multiple reasons behind his exit stating, “A lot of variables played a part in it. It’s quite amusing to see people presuming it was because of Tony (Khan) and Brandi. That’s a recurring rumor, that ‘Tony did not sign Brandi.’ In reality, Brandi had been re-signed. Our TBS show, Rhodes To The Top, had also been renewed for another season. It was more of a personal discomfort. The important thing is the shared beautiful past and preserving those good memories. If I happen to meet them after a decade, I want to hold on to those good memories. I only want them to remember the good times.”

On partnering with Roman Reigns at Bad Blood: Rhodes shared, “My initial conversation with him surprised many. Contrary to the assumption, we hardly interact backstage. Though there’s nothing negative between us, we are just aware of our roles. I had the opportunity to express my gratitude to him before Bad Blood in Atlanta for the successful ticket sales. His addition to the team certainly boosted the sales. It’s a unique relationship. He has tremendously contributed to WWE’s success. While there’s criticism about his limited dates, he has truly earned his current status.”

Embedded below is the podcast where Rhodes discusses his “beef” with Roman Reigns, emulating his father’s legacy, a story about Vince McMahon, and more.
