Wrestling star Cody Rhodes, also known as ‘The American Nightmare’, recognises that although his ‘Kingdom’ theme song is popular among followers, most haven’t deciphered the lyrics.
During a recent episode of “The Pat McAfee Show,” Rhodes disclosed how his beloved anthem has become a crowd favourite in WWE arenas. He shared,
“So 99% of the audience doesn’t know the lyrics. They just rock out until the one part. Just the ‘woah.’ At the end of the night, when I make the rounds, and we stay after the cameras are down, autographs and pictures and stuff, I wish they would play any song other than that song because they play it over and over and over to the point where it’s excessive ‘woahs.’ You’re gonna OD on the woahs at this point. Too many.”
The much-loved ‘WOAH” segment of Rhodes’ tune pays tribute to his initial stint in WWE, where the phrase was prominently used in his ‘Dashing’ and ‘Scarred’ themes.
Before his anticipated match at WrestleMania 40, Rhodes challenged Roman Reigns with a cryptic warning: “Get ready to learn the lyrics to Kingdom” This was before Rhodes concluded Reigns’ championship journey in the high-profile event.
