In a recent dialogue with Raj Prashad of Uproxx, current WWE Universal Champion, Cody Rhodes, shared his thoughts on partnering with Roman Reigns for the upcoming WWE Bad Blood 2024, his views on Paul Heyman, and discussed several other topics.

Some interesting excerpts from the conversation can be seen below:

Discussing the temporary absence of a few major stars during the summer, Rhodes commented, “Roman is taking a break, along with Seth Rollins, who plays a major role in WWE. Unfortunately, Rhea Ripley is injured. The Rock bids us farewell for an indeterminate period. That leaves me. While I’m always ready to face a challenge, I am also quietly hoping that everything will be alright and that I can fulfill the expectations.”

While discussing Paul Heyman, Rhodes said, “I strongly feel that in some other life, I could have been an excellent ‘Paul Heyman guy’. I hold enormous respect for Mr. Heyman, for unsung contributions to my father’s career, and for his own journey. Despite being the one who might defeat the Bloodline, I feel privileged to be in Mr. Heyman’s sphere of influence. In Sports Entertainment, there aren’t many super intellectuals like him. If you get an opportunity to work with somebody like Scorsese, for instance, it’s similar to this. To be in his sphere, engaged in those discussions, is one of the things I relish.”

Regarding Roman Reigns, Rhodes said, “Occasionally, you confront someone across the ring and get a spark or magic. Regardless of whether you love them or hate them or are acquainted with them or not. He stirs something within me. It surfaces when I concentrate on nutrition or on getting into shape or on the planning of a wrestling match or on an exclusive event. He reveals facets of me which I was unaware of. I hope I reciprocate the effect on him. Anticipating a bundle of grand stories we can share three decades from now when we age and retire about our successful careers.”
