Cody Rhodes, known for his popularity in WWE’s recent global events, recently had a candid chat with Jonathan Coachman on the “Behind The Turnbuckle” podcast. The conversation revolved around the reactions and sentiments he received at various international events such as the Clash at the Castle, Elimination Chamber, Backlash, and King and Queen of the Ring.
Rhodes passionately expressed, “One of the things I’m delighting in most after WrestleMania is all of these worldwide PLEs. I’m clueless as to why the audience connects with me. They seem to appreciate the big, simple American with an American flag tattoo on his neck. Curiously, it’s often at these international venues that I feel the most adored. I didn’t have typical college life. This is my worldwide education. Bridging relationships with wrestling fans globally through sports entertainment is something I’m truly grateful for. I’m shocked that they’d rally for me so enthusiastically in countries like France and Saudi Arabia.”
Rhodes further commented, “Getting to perform internationally has been a revelation. Behind the facade of the big, simple American from Georgia, I’ve accrued immense knowledge through these global performances. My gratitude goes out to Nick Khan for paving the path to these experiences, which for me have been of a lifetime.”
