The WWE Crown Jewel pay-per-view event tomorrow, will witness an exciting match between Cody Rhodes and GUNTHER. Rhodes, popularly known as ‘The American Nightmare,’ will take on the role of the company backstage at the Kickoff event today.
On the topic of growing up with the revered last name, Rhodes, and being under constant attention, he said, “I thought there was a microphone on me growing up, having the last name Rhodes. I thought, after winning the Royal Rumble and your coining of ‘Finish the story,’ there was a microphone on me to see if I could do it. However, nothing prepared me for the intense scrutiny I felt after I won the WWE Championship.”
Rhodes further expressed, “With that comes a level-up, monstrous opponents like Gunther. We have galvanized the fans here eager to witness this. We’ve also given rise to those who seek to topple me. As once rightfully mentioned, ‘Finish the story,’ let me warn Gunther; brother, this story is far from over.”
In other news, Tommy Dreamer recently participated in the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, exploring various topics among which was about WWE NXT’s upcoming event at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA.
During this discussion, Dreamer speculated whether the fans could expect a surprise appearance by Paul Heyman at the show. He opined,
“As far as the storyline goes, we really haven’t seen much of Paul. There’s more than meets the eye. I also think that if it were up to me, I’d surprise the audience with Paul once the event concludes… After all, anyone who has ever been associated with ECW knows that Paul Heyman needs to be recognized. It may not be on camera, but at least with those present, because they will shower him with love.”
The last time we saw Heyman was on the June 28th episode of WWE SmackDown.
